#TodayInHistory The Sandinistas led by Daniel Ortega overthrow the CIA backed Somoza regime in Nicaragua in 1979, after a 12 year long Civil War. The Somoza family that ruled the country for 43 years, was notorious for it's corruption and authoritarian rule.
